Bike Ride

The kids and I did our first Family Bike “Race”. It was a lot of fun. It was short (2.5 miles), gorgeous weather, and just something new to do. We even made it home by 10:15am for Lauren to go to a b-day party. Perfect Saturday morning activity. They had a little course with cones for the kids to go around with their bikes. The kids also got free shirts and helmets.  The pictures show that we clearly did not get their helmets fitted very good before the race.

Greg and Lindsey were our cheerleaders.  Taylor had to be front and center at the starting line.  The bottom pictures are of the kids crossing the finish line. I love how Lindsey is right there waiting for Taylor. He went ahead of Lauren and when he got back he told Greg, “my butt hurts!” But then he rode around just waiting for us. Lauren doesn’t quite have the energize bunny in her like Taylor.  There were some tears, some stopping, etc. But she finished strong and thought it was way fun when they had ice cream at the finish line. Pleasant surprise that made the whole experience so much more fun!
